I am so excited to share some summer reading activities!

Don't forget to check out my post on Preventing Summer Reading Loss 🌞 and 10 Tips to Raising a Reader 🌈 while you are here.

Check your local library

My local library always does something fun. Last year they did a bubblegum machine with a bingo dauber and my son earned a book after reading 100 books.

They also do to-go activity packets with everything you need for an activity, game or craft.

Your local library is definitely worth checking out along with these free options below.

Barnes and Noble free book

  1. For grades 1-6
  2. Read 8 books and fill out the reading log
  3. Bring the reading log to the store and get a free book in July or August!

Free summer reading on Scholastic

1. Home base is completely free and is moderated for safety 24/7.

2. Download the app or play on the computer.

3. Keep your child excited and engaged with books and characters they definitely see at school from Scholastic!

4. Play games, attend weekly author events and more. Now if only they could set up a Book Fair in my living room!

Pizza Hut's BOOK IT

That's right... everyone's favorite reading incentive is back!

1. Just download the app, track your child's reading and meet their goal.

2. Get a free Personal Pan Pizza in June, July and August! The nostalgia is real even if it is on an app.

Whether you are checking out your local library, playing games with your kid's favorite book characters or working towards a free pizza, making summer reading more fun, interactive or challenging is definitely worth it!
